I have wanted to write a How to Design Crochet Bags and Totes series for a while now. I’m finally getting around to it, but I want to teach you the ‘How To’s’ of designing a crochet bag in a more hands-on way! I thought if I created a Crochet Designing Challenge, you would not only learn what you needed about designing bags, but you could apply what you learned along the way. At the end of the challenge, you would have learned new skills AND have a crochet pattern you could publish!
Pin it Now, Read it Later!
In this Introduction, I’ll share how the Crochet Designing Challenge will work:
Over the next six weeks, I’ll post an article every Friday. Each article will have educational information about designing your crochet bag or tote and a challenge to complete for that week. It’s like having an accountability coach prompting you each week!
Spreading the challenge out over 6-weeks will be easier to complete each week’s challenge while still keeping up with the responsibilities of life! I’m all about balance!
The last two weeks of the challenge will focus on crochet pattern writing. You’ll learn the basics of how to write a crochet pattern, and at the end, you’ll have a pattern you can sell!
Now, this challenge doesn’t come without a prize!
That’s right! At the end of this challenge, everyone who participates AND submits their finished written pattern will have a chance to win TECH EDITING time from yours truly! Yes, your finished bag or tote pattern will be edited by me for FREE! Not sure what a Tech Editor is or what we do? Read this ARTICLE to find out!

I have been wanting to write a pattern for a bag I made a while back. Sounds like this might be a good reason to get it completed!
