These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of this website, your purchases of crochet patterns or digital products, and your engagement of Sweet Bird Crochet LLC for technical editing services. Please read them carefully. By accessing this site, purchasing a product, or booking a service, you agree to these Terms.

1. General Information

Sweet Bird Crochet LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates in Dallas, Georgia, USA. Our website and its content are intended to educate, inspire, and support crochet designers and makers.

“You,” “your,” or “client” refers to any visitor, customer, or service client who interacts with our website, purchases our products, or books our services.

2. Intellectual Property & Content Usage

All website content, including but not limited to text, patterns, templates, photos, videos, graphics, and digital files, is the property of Sweet Bird Crochet LLC and protected by U.S. and international copyright law.

You may:

  • Use purchased crochet patterns to make finished items.

  • Sell finished items made from our patterns, provided you give clear credit in your listings or product tags such as:
    “Pattern by Sweet Bird Crochet LLC” or “Design by Cherie Mellick, Sweet Bird Crochet.”

You may not:

  • Reproduce, share, distribute, or resell any portion of our patterns, templates, or other materials.

  • Copy or alter digital files for resale or redistribution.

  • Use our images, text, or branding without written permission.

Patterns and digital downloads are licensed, not sold, and may only be used as described above.

3. Digital Products & Downloads

All crochet patterns, templates, and eBooks are delivered digitally. Once your payment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with your download link.

  • Refund Policy: All digital product sales are final and non-refundable.

  • Lost Files: If you lose access to your download link, please contact us with proof of purchase, and we’ll gladly resend it.

  • Errors & Revisions: While we strive for accuracy, human error can occur. If you notice a mistake in a pattern, please email us. We’ll review and, when needed, issue an updated version at no cost.

When physical items are offered (such as printed planners or books), details regarding shipping, processing time, and return eligibility will be clearly stated on the product page.

4. Blog Content & Educational Resources

All blog posts, tutorials, videos, and articles on Sweet Bird Crochet are for educational and informational purposes only.

While every effort is made to ensure accuracy, crochet techniques and industry standards may change. Please use your own discretion before applying any information shared here.

Copyright & Sharing

  • You may share direct links to our blog posts on social media or your website, provided proper credit and a link back are included.

  • You may not copy, repost, translate, or republish any content or images without written permission.

5. Technical Editing Services

When you engage Sweet Bird Crochet LLC for crochet technical editing services, the following terms apply.

Independent Contractor

Sweet Bird Crochet LLC operates as an independent contractor. Nothing in our agreement establishes an employer-employee relationship.

Confidentiality & Intellectual Property

All pattern files and materials shared for editing remain the sole property of the client. We will not share, discuss, or distribute client patterns without written consent.

Services & Rounds of Editing

Standard technical editing includes up to three rounds:

  1. Initial Edit: Comprehensive review with comments and recommendations.

  2. Final Edit: Verification of corrections and refinements.

  3. Pre-Publishing Edit: Post-testing review of minor adjustments.

Additional editing beyond the included rounds may be billed at the standard hourly rate upon approval.

Rates & Payment Terms

  • Technical editing is billed at $4.00 USD per 6-minute increment (minimum $40).

  • Invoices are issued electronically and due within 3 business days of receipt.

  • Late Payments: A 10 % fee is applied to overdue balances at 10, 25, and 30 days.

  • Accepted payments: credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.

Scheduling & Communication

Editing begins once materials are received. Clients must submit patterns and responses in a timely manner. Delays in client communication may extend turnaround times.

Office hours are Tuesday –Friday, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m. EST. Emails received after 4 p.m. or on weekends will be answered the next business day.

Optional Add-On: Pattern Test Moderator Services

Upon request, we offer tester call announcements and/or moderation of pattern tests. Moderator services are billed at a flat $75 USD per week and include managing tester communication and summarizing feedback.

Guarantee & Limitations

Editing is a process of recommendations. We guarantee professional effort and care, but cannot promise a pattern will be entirely error-free or guarantee sales or publication.

If you are not fully satisfied with your edit, please contact us within 7 business days. We’ll review your concerns and agree on fair next steps.

6. Termination

Either party may terminate a service agreement with at least 3 days’ notice.
If services are terminated early, the client must pay for all completed work and approved expenses up to that date.

7. Disclaimers

All website information, tutorials, and downloads are provided for educational purposes only. We make no warranties regarding fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or completeness.

You use all information, patterns, and downloads at your own risk. Sweet Bird Crochet LLC is not liable for any damages arising from use of our products or services.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sweet Bird Crochet LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profit or data, arising from your use of our website, products, or services.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA. Any disputes shall be handled exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Paulding County, Georgia.

10. Modifications & Updates

We may update these Terms at any time. The “Effective Date” above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted signifies acceptance of the updated Terms.
